The finest young talent in South Florida will be performing at Bonnet House’s Young Artist Music Series this winter. Concerts under the stars on the Beautiful Bonnet House Estate with wine, dessert and coffee included in the price.
The evening’s activities take place in and around the house with the concert taking place on the veranda lawn beneath the moon and stars. Sweet music, balmy starlit nights, and the setting of Bonnet House combine for a truly unique experience.

From Menotti to Today: The Importance of American Opera

Part of the Community Conversations series
In partnership with the University of Miami, FGO will present a discussion and performance looking at contemporary American opera from Menotti to the present. The panelists will be joined by students from the University of Miami and by Florida Grand Opera’s Young Artists to present an interactive performance as the audience journeys from 1950 to 2015.
Presenters Include:
- Alan O. Johnson, Associate Professor, Vocal Performance, and Program Director, University of Miami’s Frost Opera Theater
- Karen Henson, Associate Professor, Musicology, at University of Miami’s Frost School of Music
- Dr. Julie Maykowski, FGO’s Director of Artistic Administration and Head of the Young Artist Program
With musical performances by University of Miami students and Florida Grand Opera’s Young Artists

Part of the Community Conversations series
The Wolfsonian–Florida International University will be presenting elements of its propaganda art exhibit in partnership with FGO’s Young FGO’s Young Artists, who will perform music from Menotti’s The Consul, which will connect the visual world with the musical world to illustrate the politics, violence, and hatred that fuel the fires of war and illustrate the themes of the opera.
This event is free with the cost of museum admission.
Museum Admission: $7 Adults • $5 Seniors
Free for Wolfsonian members as well as FGO donors and subscribers with a reservation.

Concert with Lisa Vroman

Florida Grand Opera (FGO), along with the Saint Martha – Yamaha 2014-2015 Concert Series, is proud to welcome world-renowned Broadway star Lisa Vroman to Miami for a one-night-only concert.
The night will consist of a wide variety of repertoire sung by Vroman, FGO’s Young Artists, and fun musical collaborations between the two. Audiences can look forward to such popular Broadway and opera hits as “I Feel Pretty,” “Siempre en mi Corazon,” All I Ask of You,” and “I Got Rhythm,” among other crowd-pleasers.
Light hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served for the public reception. Performance by members of FGO’s Young Artist Program
